Dental Implants

Dental implants are by far the most exciting topic in dentistry right now. They are versatile enough to help restore a complete set of missing or bad teeth, and simple enough to easily replace a single missing tooth. Either way, dental implants are a great way to restore your smile. Dr. Stoker is highly trained and up to date with all the latest implant technology. An implant is a biocompatible steel post that is surgically placed in your bone at the site of the missing tooth. This post acts the same way the roots of your natural teeth do. Once the implant has healed for 2-3 months and the bone has successfully fused to the implant, Dr. Stoker is then able to restore the missing tooth. By using a custom abutment to attach a porcelain crown to the implant you are left with a very natural looking tooth. This tooth functions great and will last you decades to come! The great thing about implants is that Dr. Stoker is able to restore a single missing tooth without compromising the health of any of the surrounding teeth. Implants can be placed anywhere in your mouth (provided there is enough bone) and we can place as many as are needed to accomplish your dental goals. Implants can also be used to help secure complete dentures (you’ll never have to use denture adhesive again!), help make partial dentures more comfortable by eliminating clasps and wires, or can be used as anchors for full arch restorations. The best part about tooth implants is their predictability and high success rate compared to other treatment options.

Quick Facts
Duration

A single implant appointment lasts about an hour, but if multiple implants are being placed the appointment will probably last a little bit longer. Be sure to ask about our sedation options so that you can be as comfortable as possible during your surgery.

Insurance

Insurance coverage varies depending on the insurance company and the plan that you have chosen. It is becoming more common for insurance companies to cover implants at about 50% after you have met your yearly deductible. To get a more precise estimate we would be happy contact your insurance company and get a list of your covered benefits.
